The Grand Opera House has been presenting performances in the historic city of York since 1902.

With such varied programming, the Grand Opera House stage has been graced by many household names; from Charlie Chaplin, Vera Lynn, Laurel and Hardy, Morecambe and Wise to more recent stars of stage, song and screen including Sir Ian McKellen, Michael McIntyre, Dame Joan Collins, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Kate Rusby, Newton Faulkner, Ray Davies, Adele, John Cleese, Sir Michael Palin, Tim Minchin, Joan Armatrading… the list goes on!

Alongside staging UK tours, the Grand Opera House is proud to host local theatre companies, dance schools, workshops and their annual festive success of the Pantomime.
